Violet Patlican fig is a variety from Turkey. "Patlican" means "eggplant" in Turkish, and so the violet color on the neck of the fruit and the dark purple-black skin may be reminiscent of the appearance of eggplant.  It has a sweet, intense berry flavor, with notes of blackberry, strawberry, and black mulberry.  Parthenocarpic.
