The inside of this fig is what every connoisseur wants to experience. The thin skin of Cavaliere holds delicious thick and rich pulp and those who have been lucky enough to have sampled Cavaliere seem to have a hard time putting their finger on the taste of this sought-after variety. It is a complex flavor that is known to be acidic but also smooth. It has intense berry tones and sweetness with a taste that lingers.  The skin of each fruit will either be predominantly purple or yellow, but fruits usually have some blushing of the opposite color for a unique look. The cracked, edible skin provides a unique look and texture. Expect this fig to ripen later in the season. Parthenocarpic.
