The Battaglia Green fig is a highly prized, cold-hardy heirloom variety belonging to the "Adriatic" type of figs. Originally brought from Italy, it was famously rediscovered by Sandy Battaglia in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and has since become a top choice for fig collectors. It is celebrated for its exceptional fruit quality, vigorous growth, and rich, jammy flavor profile.  Has a vibrant, bright green skin that retains its color even when the fruit is fully ripe.  As it matures, the skin may soften, lighten slightly, and hang limply from the neck.  Fruit has a deep strawberry-red to dark crimson pulp, offering a striking visual contrast to the green skin.  It is a medium to large round fig, typically averaging around 60 grams.  Flavor is intensely sweet with a complex, fruity flavor resembling rich strawberry jam.  Pulp is thick, jammy, and gelatinous with a mild to moderate seed crunch.  The skin is moderately tough but pleasantly chewy when fully ripe.
