U-Fig #09

U-Fig #09

A tasty, juicy grape-plum substantial fig.  Very good.

I am growing a whole lot of unreleased and untested varieties of figs.  Each will be evaluated and I will try to determine if they are existing varieties.  Some of the varities are from a private collection, some are from California Seedlings that sellers would like me to evaluate, some are family/friends heirlooms, and some I have procured from various other sources.  I had been labeling these from the various sources, but I've found that to be counter-productive as I'm not trying to release these figs and many are approaching me to purchase some of them.  At some point in the future, unique figs may be labeled as unknown, and sold later on, which is common in the fig community.  If that happens, the background will be explained fully.

Due to unforeseen circumstances in late 2024, AJ and his family were no longer able to maintain and care for such an extensive collection of fig trees.  The family brokered the sale of his extensive collection.

Before I distribute any of AJ's collection, I will assess them and attempt to see if they're an already named variety that is easy to identify.  On top of that, I will ensure that the fig variety is either a Common Fig or a San Pedro (Breba) type.  Those that require pollination will be gotten rid of.
